12 oz bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of sweet creamy molasses and cocoa, dark fruit. Flavor leans more roasty, but certainly sweet cocoa, molasses, caramel. Quite tasty.

The Aromas are cocoa, roast and dark malt. For a milk stout it's more bitter than sweet, in fact there's not much sweet at all. A little bit in the Finish out of balance okay drinking if you don't mind those things.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Ann Arbor Eisenhower, 3/26/16. Dark brown, large foamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, lactose and a bit of dark fruit. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, lactose. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy. Nice.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a cloudy Wednesday mid spring evening. Appearance is pitch black, moderately thick, light tan head. Aroma of lactose and chocolate with a little coffee. Taste is decent, chocolate and lactose still dominate, not too boozy for the 8% ABV. Overall decent.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/20/2016. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/char, herbal, light pepper, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/char, herbal, light pepper, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, smoke, char, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. This felt hoppy for the style, but it wasn’t overdone. A very enjoyable offering.
