Bottle shared by Brian, thanks! Pours black with grayish brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has earthy dark grains and bourbon with a hint of smoke backing. Flavor has earthy dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of bourbon in the finish.

750 ml bottle into snifter; 2015 vintage, bottled in 11/2015. Bottle #548. Pours pitch black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, raisin, prune, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light coconut/licorice, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. A bit of booziness as warms, but not much. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, raisin, prune, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light coconut/licorice, and roast/oak earthiness. Light roasted bitterness and moderate bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, raisin, prune, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light coconut/licorice, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balanced of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bourbon/oak spiciness as well. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish; with zero booziness. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged Russian imperial stout style! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balanced of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
