This is our first "Holiday" Beer, released for the 2015 holidays. Roasted sweetness, dark chocolate bitterness and a dash of mint for some extra cheer.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall light brown head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of super pungent fresh mint, a lot of roasted malt, some bitter coffee and caramelised sugar notes and a good dose of chocolate throughout. Medium-bodied; Assertive mint flavours with some funky fake mint/essence noticed along with some lactose and cream sweetness, but the smooth and roasty malts are definitely there along with some dry yeastie finishes. Aftertaste is very dry, but showing a lot of mint, some good oak and vanilla notes and a lot of smooth malty and chocolate finishes. Overall, a good mint-based stout with a smooth complexity that shows nice flavours and a rich sweetness that persists throughout. Nice to sample and perfect for the season. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 10-December-2016 for US$2,59 sampled at home in Washington on 02-April-2017 while Spring is approaching, especially down south here.

Can. Lovely mint and chocolate nose over a stouty looking body and head. Flavor has a lot of earthy chocolate and leather with a mint presence that takes over late. Very pleasant and well balanced.

12 ounce can. Pours a dark brown color with a small white head. A nice toast and licorice nose. The flavor is roast, dark fruit, caramel, light mint and chocolate. Quite nice. Smooth. Very drinkable. The mint is pretty pronounced in the finish. Flavorful. Solid.

12 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours clear very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Incredible appearance. Aromas of big cool mint, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, light coffee, cream, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and mint leaf notes; with great strength. Taste of big cool mint, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, light coffee, cream, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roast bitterness and cooling mint character on the finish; with lingering notes of mint, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, light coffee, cream, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and mint leaf flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent mint stout. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of roast/bready malt and cooling mint leaf flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
