12 oz bottle. Pours a red brown with a very off-white head. Intense banana toffee and some strawberry in the aroma. Toffee flavor with some wheat and some weizen yeast. A touch of an off flavor as well. Not enough to make it unpleasant by any means. Decent beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours crystal clear deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, banana, caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, light clove/nuttiness, slight chocolate, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of raisin, plum, banana, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, light clove/nuttiness, slight chocolate, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, banana, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and slightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good weizenbock style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Beer #36 of 42 at GTMW, 8-8-09. I wanted to try one of their meads, but all out! So I’ve got this treat instead. It is a dark, weizenbock appearance, a thin but foamy head. Good beer smell, rich in malts. Good bock taste, like dark wheat bread. Very slight bit of estery fruitiness.

Pour is a brown with a large tan head. Aroma starts off with a very sweet malt then some of the banana if you use your imagination. Flavor is more of a spice than anything else. I did not get any banana or wheat. At first I thought they poured the wrong beer but they told me i got the right one. Probably the worst one I had at the GTMW. And to think i waited around 20 minutes for them to pur this at 4 o’clock.
