A very nice looking beer from the pour. Well carbonated, as a Belgian ale should be. Many American brewers struggle with this. So gold color, slightly opaque, and a huge white head that overflows out of my tulip glass. Aroma is lightly earthy, no aroma of Belgian yeast particularly. Flavor is dry, malt flavor, and more yeast here. it isn’t sour, but seems like it could go that way with more time. Light flower aroma near the finish. good.

Tap at Sidedoor. Unfiltered orange-tan. Big, steady, impressive foamy white head. Sweet Belgian yeast aroma, not as unruly and unrefined as some of its US peers. Has a touch a Belgian IPA/Saison feel, peppery banana yeast notes. Not unlike Orval. A lot of depth. Great mouthfeel. A really nice beer, sort of a Singel feel. The mouthfeel really careies it. Captures the essence of Belgian brewing, not just a shabby approximation. Really nice. Incorporates the Brett a lot better than most US beer.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass; batch 51, bottled 7/30/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2-3 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing lings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, lime, orange zest, pineapple, mango, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, lime, orange zest, pineapple, mango, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange zest, pineapple, mango, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great crisp yeast/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. A fair amount of dryness on the finish, but not too dry. High carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pour is a hazy bronze with a ginormus white head. Aroma is a bit of fruit I guess. The head never really goes away. Flavor is kinda fruit and finishes with some caramel. Not much funky brett In fact I really don’t get any barnyard/horseblanket flavors. This was ok I guess. Kinda bland and not very inspiring.

Bottle. Medium head, dark gold almost orange body that is thick with lower clarity. Aroma is great, clean yet Belgian airiness. Very low bubblegum/banana esters but can be picked out. Malty, airy aroma and flavor as well. Feels so fresh and light yet definitely Belgian malt and yeast character. Not much brett except for the bright and airy character. Simple and very good.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with light coriander and Brett, pleasant. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with light funkyness, coriander, o.k. On tap at Links.
