Strong IPA made by a German craft brewery - even a conservative, very traditionalistic beer country like that of our eastern neighbours is not immune for the enthusiasm and boldness embodied by the craft beer movement, and I always find it interesting to see how German 'Gründlichkeit' and brewing traditions (Reinheitsgebot!) meet with the renewed Anglo-Saxon beer culture. This is an IPA with a thick, rocky, egg-white, dense and lacing, very stable head and hazy ochre-tinged straw blonde colour. Aroma of lime zest, yellow grapefruit, dried mango cubes, spring onions, white bread, damp marijuana, green olives. Sweetish onset, raw pineapple, green banana, unripe green kiwi impressions, sourish accent, medium fizz, full and fluffy mouthfeel. Soft, mellow, rounded, 'white' bready malt body, long and aromatic hop finish with retronasal notes of green olives, grapefruit and red onions and providing relatively mellow, but long-lasting bitterness, followed by a pleasant afterglow of gin-like alcohol. Not a game-changer internationally spoken perhaps, but within German context, a proof that indeed German brewing traditions and new Anglo-Saxon styles can work perfectly together. Exemplary.

(Thank you!) Sampled draft @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017. Pale golden, massive white head. Nose is doughy weird green low hand soap bitter. Taste is soapy green USA bitter hop, oily, almost bit sweet despite the big amount of hop, bit odd but overall quite nice.

Clear pale blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely smell, lots of tropical fruits, bit danky, cheesy, sweaty feet. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, some citrus, hoppy, bit grassy. Aftertaste: dry, bit resinous, some citrus, grapefruit, dank, more fruits, very nice!
