A roasty, chocolatey brown ale finishing off with a creamy coconut flavor. For when the time calls for a little taste of island living.

Very deep and dark brown coloured body with a pretty thin, single centimetre tall of-white and tan head that fades fairly quickly and just leaves a thin oily light brown head on top. Aroma of roasted malt and oatmeal, caramelised sugars, grain, earth, nuts, molasses and a deeper kick of pitted fruits , but no coconuts, at least in the nose. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich malty notes dominate with a great roasty profile with some oatmeal and molasses noticeable and a big kick of syrup (maple) and rich pitted fruits, especially on the end. Aftertaste is pretty strong, with a good balance of rich, nutty malts, some robust sweetness from toffee and caramelised sugars with some plums and pitted fruit on the end, but a lot of almond and nutty spiciness on the finish, which gives this a bit more punch overall. Overall, a pretty nice, balanced, smooth and flavourful, rich beer with a good nutty and sweet, pitted fruit quality that ends this pretty well. While there isn't any real coconutty flavours here, the richness makes this great, as does it's origin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Great to sample this from the UP there as it starts getting 'chilly' here in Washington (not really). I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Super One Foods in Marquette, Michigan on 04-August-2021 for US$9,99/six pack, canned on 08-January-2021 with the tagline 'Where is the Snow?', sampled at my house here in Washington, far removed from he UP of Michigan on 08-November-2021.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clearish brown with a finger of beige foam that dissipates. Lovely cocoa powder and coffee forward nose with light toasted coconut as it warms up. Leans drier on the palate with coconut, cocoa and coffee again. Good carbonation. Very refreshing without being overly adjuncty or sweet. Mild sweetness with more coffee and chocolate on the finish. Very good brown.

The Aromas are metallic, minerals, roast and a hint of coconut. Very Mild flavors that are similar to nose coconut comes on a touch stronger. Brisk carbonation that doesn't help. OK beer.

12oz can. Deep ruby red hued brown. Steady beige head. The coconut works well with the base beer. Pretty tame and straightforward. Malt centered, sweet, pleasant. Pleasant toasted coconut tones linger in the finish. Good.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice coconut note with bread and a touch of dark grains. Flavor starts with coconut but finish also has bread and dark grains.

Purchased at Siciliano's Market in Grand Rapids, MI; enjoyed at home still recovering from a half marathon while icing a foot. Appearance is cola brown with a moderate white head. Aroma of coconut, chocolate, and caramel, smells great. Taste is very good, not too sweet, coconut shines through, not really bitter, caramel notes as well. Its a desserty beer without being decadent. Well done.

12 oz can thanks to willrunforbeer, deep brown color, good amount of head. Aroma is roasted nuts and mild coconut.
Flavor shows a substantial amount of coconut with hints of chocolate and toasted nuts. Medium body that maybe a tad on the full side. The bold coconut surprised me on this brew. Very nice implementation of the coconut. For the style this rocks!

Can. Cola brown body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, coconut, nuts. Light chocolate, biscuit, metal. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Coconut flavor is nicely integrated into the roasted malts. Sweet coconut trumps bitter hops. Easy drinking.
