Bottled. Deep brownish black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some roasted malts, mild ashes as well as some dried fruits, vanilla and herbs. Flavour is dried fruits, chocolate, roasted and ashy with some caramel, vanilla, mild vanillin notes as well as some plummy tones.

Can from Brewcraft at home after getting back to HK. Cola brown translucent pour with minimal off white head. Aroma is woody vanilla with burnt roasted malt. Taste is roasted/burnt malt, alcohol, pine bitterness, wood, vanilla sweetness. Very big and complex as it warms. Quite good. Palate feels thin, which I always dislike in Porters, and somehow slick at the same time. Lasting boozy warmth.

750ml bottle [#588/816]. Quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately, slightly nuttily, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, hints of dried fruit, plum, fig & the like, vanilla overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, crème brulée, brown sugar, vanilla, a touch of burnt sugar, sponge finger, tiramisu; rich and complex, balanced and homogeneous.
