The beer pours black with a tight, tan-coloured head. A beautiful, complex aroma of vanilla, caramel, crème brulée, toasty malt & subtle spice. The beer is full-bodied, rich & creamy. Intense flavours of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel with background coffee & brown sugar. The oak contributes to the gorgeous silky texture, and the vanilla balances beautifully with chocolatey flavours from the malt. Perfectly balanced, if we may say so ourselves.

Released annually with minor recipe tweaks.

Keg at Stoneworks, Peterborough. Brownish black, opaque, big creamy off-white head. Vanilla extract, hazelnut and forest floor aroma. Sweet boozy taste with a feel of drinking vanilla extract from the bottle. Some bitter sourness in the finish with earthy hops. The lovely taste turns on me a bit in the aftertaste: too much sour booze. Really decent all in all though. Nice one from Fourpure.
