12 oz can purchased in Austin, TX. Pours a pitch black color with a thick light brown head and great retention. Good lacing. Dark bitter chocolate aroma. Dark chocolate and molasses flavors with a touch of coffee. A little too much molasses flavor for me. Heavy body. 6.7% ABV is invisible.

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Pours black with a medium creamy beige head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing. Malt, chocolate and coffee in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, milk chocolate and mild coffee. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Pours dark brown black with a dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted dark malt. Nearly burnt. Full bodied. Flavor is very dark chocolate and dark malt. I’m not getting coffee, I think. Pretty dry. Very, very tasty. Sort of like baking chocolate in the finish. Nice.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours dense pitch black color with a nice 2 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, cocoa, vanilla, cream, roasted malt, coffee, and light toast. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of sweet dark malt notes; quite unique as well. Taste of dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, cocoa, vanilla, cream, roasted malt, coffee, and light toast. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, cocoa, vanilla, cream, roasted malt, and coffee on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of sweet dark malt flavors; with zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice milk stout! Great balance and robustness of sweet dark malt flavors; and extremely smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle at RBWG. Pours clear brown with a faint, beige film. Earthy aroma, some dirty cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, some milky chocolate, mild earthy bitterness, dirt, toasty malts. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate sweet finish, further earthy bitterness, bittersweet cocoa. Good stuff on the whole.
