Imperial Malt Liquor Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Too Classy for a Paper Bag. Here you have what could be the first malt liquor worthy of a glass. Typically a slighted style, we thought we would class it up with a stay in the wood and a healthy dose of dry-hopping. A huge hit of corn gives this one a smooth sweetness while its time spent aging in bourbon barrels will give you reason to share. Be warned: this one will kick you where you most expect it.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is vanilla, coconut, cashew brittle, alcohol, wood. Pours hazy golden with a one finger bone-white head with decent retention. Taste is sweet, finishing with a good amount of bitterness. Lots of alcohol heat. Quite a bit of a bourbon flavor here, but it's not overwhelming. It's pretty hot. I wonder if it would be better after a year or so in the cellar.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was coconut, pineapple, whiskey, toasty malts and caramel. The flavor was strong pineapple, grapefruit, orange, coconut, whiskey, caramel, toffee, maraschino cherry and sugar. Very long finish. Full bodied. Alcohol well controlled for 14%

Bottle. Amber with a white head that doesn't last all that well. Aroma of butterscotch syrup with vanilla or being near a popcorn servery that hasn't been wiped down awhile. Some oak. Very sweet with candied popcorn, light spices, vanilla, a little oak. Very clean. It dries out a tiny bit and bitterness that comes in straight away creeps up a bit at the end. There is a also a jolt of booze there, but that's part of the joke. Arguably a category error.

From a 355ml bottle on 2/9/2017. Pours a clear deep golden with a small head. The nose is malty with a some big bourbon notes. The flavour is primarily sweet caramel malt, with some indistinct fruitiness, against a background of bourbon and oak, with a slight but sharp bitterness. Syrupy palate with average carbonation. An okay but somewhat one dimensional sipper.

Bottled 355ml (Beer Hunters). Clear amber colour, small white head. Sweet vanilla, bourbon aroma. Medium-bodied. Smooth, toffeish, vanilla, light fruity maltyness. Hides ABV completely. Very nice sipper.

Bottle. Honey, bourbon, corn, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with large light tan head. Moderately sweet honey, bourbon, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter hay/alcohol flavor. Good body. Obviously the best malt liquor I've ever had (although the Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull I had at the end of Army Basic Training, and Mickey's Big Mouth are a close 2nd and 3rd).

Very interesting Take On The Malt Liquor Style. Has a nice thick creamy off-white head that lasts a little while. Aroma is odd, bourbon caramel malt Oak and ashtray. Flavor is sweet with a little bitter, bourbon caramel. I think this would get a lot better with age.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a while head. Aroma of red apple, whiskey. Flavor whiskey, toasty malty, oak, a bit of apple. It's alright, if a bit plain. Just not a whole lot other than the bourbon barrel aging.
