Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is lots of wood, tart fruits, red wine, grapes, brown malt, and vinous notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and sourish with some bitterness. Body is medium but feels too weak for the style. Disappointing, too watery and the aroma the result of unbalanced barrel aging.

330ml bottle. Gushed all over the kitchen floor. What was left poured a murky medium brown colour with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is big oaky and vinous. The flavour is dry tannic and basically red wine, with a super dry oaky palate. Really not beer at all. I suspect that this wasn’t just aged in red wine barrels, but a whole load of cheap red wine was simply added too. Really poor. Whatever happened to Emelisse. This was a waste of 6.50 Euros. My time with Emelisse is done.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 16.10.2020. dark red / brownish color, small yellowish head. smells marzipan, light molasses, nice barrel and grape notes, grassy, very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes of red wine barrels, medical notes, tannins, rather bitterish, hints of some vinegar, light marzipan, bit funkyish. finishes medium bitter with notes of wine barrels, some vinegar and marzipan. decent, very nice smell, taste is good, but rather on the bitter side, not that wasy to drink.

Really no clue what was intended here, it's all over the place. Sickly sweet, candy-like synthetic fruit, boozy like it's 15%, caramel, little bit of sharp tartness.. What a mess, not really pleasant. Bye Emelisse, was nice to have known the name.

Shared @ Koelschtrinker's tasting. Smooth and fruity. Nice woody dry red wine sourness, tart and refreshing with a nice woody sourish winey aftertaste. Round and smooth, fruity with a dry sour woody red wine aftertaste. Nice.
