It is said that once, long before the Birds and the Bees, there was the Banana and the Bee. The rowdy Banana came from the wrong side of the tracks, so it was instantly a scandalous relationship. Things were hot for a while, practically a flambé. Their love didn’t last long, though, as it was steeped in good times and a heavy dose of a certain Caribbean libation. After the flames settled settled they decided it would be best to stay BFF’s.

500mL bottle drunk 9/24/22. Clear, golden-hay. Nose is a good mix of the adjuncts with some rich honey, though banana forward/prominent. Clean, though not getting much house character. In the mouth it's moderately sweet, with plentiful banana that doesn't seem overdone. Coffee and vanilla very light with a lightly sticky texture and quite a bit of flavor for its size. This is certainly no painstakingly-made, Artisanal mead (note the sulfites, filtration, banana concentrate), but I also don't get the crazy low scores, either.

Bottle at TreeRock. Small goblet pour. Shiny, clear gold. Smell is mostly brown sugar & stiff coffee. Strong coffee, honey, vanilla is a bit too strong, random citrus, white sugar, touch of banana on the finish. Sickly sweet, but the flavor itself is honestly not bad.

Keg at Milwaukee Burger Co. - Appleton, 5/27/19. Clear gold. Aroma of banana, maple, honey, vanilla. Taste is banana, berry, citrus, honey, vanilla. Medium bodied, slight tartness, overly sweet.

Banana wine! + Honey wine too. It's so decadent that it seems odd sometimes, floral or coffee notes, but only the slightest odd notes, otherwise tons of ripe bananas and honey.

Poured a dark golden color. Aroma was banana and almost smoke. The flavor was sourish with cocoa, banana and almost smoke. Long finish. Medium body.

Sample at the tasting room. Clear golden color with a minimal head and decent legs on the glass. The aroma consists of banana, honey and spice. Medium body with flavors of banana, roasted coffee, cinnamon and rum. The finish is sweet with a banana and rum liqueur aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottled on January 30, 2017. Thanks to monmisreal!Clear golden color, oily residue. Sweet, banana, alcohol scent. Sweet, banana, coffee, raspberry, candy taste. Candy, light butterscotch aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, sweet finish.
