Pours a slightly opaque black, with one and a half finger of dense, mocha coloured head. Excellent retention and lacing for such abv. Good intensity in a clean, not too complex aroma. Roasted malts, with vivid notes of coffee, gentled by a soft caramelish, warming feel. Possibly a hint of dried fruits. Taste is highly sweet and medium to high in bitterness. Overall, slightly on the sweetish, softer side of the imperial stout range. Roasted malts, vivid notes of coffee, caramel and maybe slight chocolate notes, possibly a hint of dried fruits. Decent complexity, nicely warming. Balanced finish and aftertaste with a hint of clean bitterness. Quite dense bodied (though maybe not as i would have expected for the abv) with low to medium carbonation, resulting in a quite creamy, softish mouthfeel. A pretty good imperial stout.

Tight rocky tan head left a creamy cover on a near black still body. Dark chocolate, demerara & dark spirits aroma. Full bodied, creamy over the tongue with a clean back. Chocolate, malt, caramel, bitter stone fruit, pith & dark spirit tastes with a boozy alcohol finish. Cracking beer.

This is delicious, chocolatey licorice, sweet and not too roasty. Fantastic beer.
