This American Pale Ale uses US hops and all kiwi malt. A sturdy ale with shed-loads of dry-hopping. It pours a gorgeous auburn colour, with hop aromas of tropical fruit and sweet orange, then on tasting has flavours of grapefruit and pine. Rounded out with a taste of toffee and welcome bitterness.

330ml can delivered from the Salmon, Leicester and drunk at home. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a ring of white head. It's got a lively scent of pine resin and ripe tangerine. Taste is quite sweet for the style, with a tinge of bitterness closer to the short finish. Soft carbonation, oily body. I love the style but I'd like a little more from this.

330ml Can sophiesbeerstore.co.uk. Clear copper appearance, frothy off-white head. Aroma of marmalade, pine, resin. Taste continues in a similar fashion, leafy marmalade, spicy sweet malt, grapefruit. Not my go-to style, but fine for what it achieves.

330ml can. Opalescent, orangey, dark golden to amber colour with average to huge, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty and piney, slightly citrusy hoppy aroma, some malty spiciness, notes of pine, lemon tea, some resin, a touch of toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and dry, moderately bitter, piney and slightly citrusy hoppy, notes of pine, lemon tea, lemon, some resin, a touch of toffee, lime, some malty spiciness; lingering bitter hoppy and malty spicy (rye?) finish. Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, foamy, slightly prickly carbonation. Quite beefy, absolutely in IPA regions concerning body and intensity, classic West Coast style - good.

Can at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, toffee, resin, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a crisp, malty, resin, light pepper spice, woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
