Thx! Courtesey of Kraddel at his cellar cleaning tasting. 2014 Vintage. Sampled. Amber red fruit, little head. Nose is oxidized Kulminator, nasty old candy & cane. Taste is flat oxidized empty stale oxidation Kulminator candy, rubbish,… Age didn’t help it. Fairly sure going by having drunk Gaverhopke beers back in 2014.

Small yellow-cream head, fast gone over reddish murky-brown beer. Fruity, bit alcoholic nose, but fleetingly. Soon replaced by chocolate, wood and a touch of black cardamom peel. Again chocolate and wood-y; more peel and lightly roasted malts. Rather neutral, faint malty sweetness, some dry, near-bitterish overtones. Feels quite carbonated. Medium bodied and slick. Light in body and surprisingly mild for its claimed 9.7% ABV. Not bad, really. I had been fearing worse, but there is still something worthwhile in Stasegem.

Bottle, 33cl. A glowing orangey brown beer topped by a dense, light beige head of moderate size. The aroma is lightly sweetish and berryish, with caramel malts and a nutty touch. Some bitterness in the mouth, it’s quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Full body. Roasted hints, caramel and nuts in the flavor. Some bitterness and alcohol warmth in the lasting finish. A pretty messy one, but drinkable. 140118
