Draught, taster. @Cervejaria Artesanal Levare, Porto (Portugal). 11/03/2020. [#3.319 Global - #166 Portugal - #4 Cerveja Levare] Dark brown colour with a lingering tan head. Aroma is burnt brown sugar, roasted coffee beans and soft roasted malts. Taste is also roasty with a long coffee finish. Medium carbonation. Next one please!

Porto taproom. Dark brown black, tiny beige head, nonlasting. Nice nose, malty, biscuits, chocolate, quite some roasted coffee, Mildly sweet, slight chocolatey feel, some roastiness. Light, a bit watered but pretty nice.

Taster at the brewpub. Hazy, brown colored. AROMA- pleasant, coffee, chocolate bonbons, earthy. FLAVOR- neutral, moderately bitter and tart, the same as aroma. Medium bodied. Good.

Keg at the brewpub. A dark black brown with a lingering light tan head. Aroma is stale coffee. Brown sugars, liquorice, little Marshmallow. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody roast, jammy, marshmallow, balsa wood. Plate is semi sweet, thin, chalky, moderate carbonation,. Decent.

Review based on the 2017 BA guidelines (style Brown Porter). Bottle 33 cl - Batch BP001 (BBF 20/01/2018). AROMA: medium roasted malt aroma with notes of coffee and lisght dark chocolate. low sweetness and low nuttyness. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque with slight ruby highlights. m?dium light brown head with average retention. TASTE: medium roasted malt flavor with notes of coffee and nuttiness. m?dium bitterness with a dry, bitter and roasted finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an OK brown porter.
