Brewer’s Delight #15 - Brasserie Trois Dames

Bottle. Malt Attacks, Brussels. 7.3%. Hazed, pale luminous yellow. Thin, tight, white head. Nose has pressed dessert apple. Lemon rind. White grape juice. Light, cheesy, sweaty funk. Just a hint of the Dupont yeast. Fresh cut oak. Smells fantastic. Taste has an oaky, vanilla sweetness, turning dry, with apple skin, grapey tart, and light sourness. Easy drinking. Minimal acidity. Clean and bright. Nice balance of sweet and sour on the finish. Really good.

Super hazy orange and bronze coloured body with a very large, six centimetre tall, fast-dying off-white head, but a very good looking beer indeed. Aroma of super sour green apples, bunches of yeast, wheat, coriander seed, wheat, alcohol, grain and some funk - very nice and incredibly complex - even in the nose! Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong rich yeast flavours with a lot of complexities, from fruit which shows apples, pears and cherries along with a good dose of oak and dry flavours along with some wheat, coriander seed, banana, bubble gum and even cedar. Aftertaste shows a rich complexity that is filled with sour notes, alcohol, dry woods and yeast notes, but somehow this much better than expected, and a great beer! Overall, this was superb, and I’;m very happy I tried this and even happier that I didn’t have it carry it back from Switzerland!
