A Dutch saying says ‘Keulen en Aken werden niet op een dag gebouwd’ which literally translates as ‘Cologne and Aachen weren’t built in one day’ the equivalent of 'Rome wasn't built in one day.' That’s right, it might take a while but here it is, a superbe Imperial Hefeweizen with tones of banana in a background of the freshness from the Saaz hops (dryhopped) It’s a one off. (most probably)

Bottle at home. Aroma is wheat, fruits, banana, citrus, spicy yeast, clove, peach. Flavour is moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Pretty neat, a Weizen on steroids. Rich and smooth.

Strong and boozy. Good full body, not as clean as most germans. But the barleywine-like figgyness is really nice. Just a little too middy. Gollem raamsteeg ams

Citrus, lemon peel sourness, wheat, some banana esters, sweet, some light clove, finish in a buttery flavor, but i really don’t like the grape sourness, this again is a confirmation of my thoughts of the quality of the ‘De Molen’ beers

Hazy blond with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have the fresh brewery sweetness of cooked, sugary grains. Starts sweet but gets pleasantly dry later.

330ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours cloudy dark orange with a medium-sized off-white head. No aroma or tasting notes because the beer is clearly infected.
