A Dutch saying says ‘Keulen en Aken werden niet op een dag gebouwd’ which literally translates as ‘Cologne and Aachen weren’t built in one day’ the equivalent of 'Rome wasn't built in one day.' That’s right, it might take a while but here it is, a superbe Imperial Hefeweizen with tones of banana in a background of the freshness from the Saaz hops (dryhopped) It’s a one off. (most probably)

hazy yellow colour, medium sized dense white head; aroma and taste of wheat, banana, some citric notes, caramel sweetness and hints of smoke; ok, I’m not so rigorous with my ratings, but it is really good, especially if tasted right after Brasseurs du Monde Gamme Grand Connaisseur L’Occulte...at least, it is really a weizenbock :-)

330ml bottle. Murky, yellow-ish, dark golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity yeasty and grassy hoppy aroma, notes of banana, pear, honeydew melon, basil, grass. Taste is slightly sweet, fruity yeasty and herbal-grassy hoppy, slightly peppery spicy, notes of banana, honeydew melon, pear, basil, hay, a fruit acidic tart-ish touch, some black pepper; soft, juicy palate, well hidden alcohol. Wonderfully light and refreshingly fruity, excellent balance of fruity flavours and grassy hoppy counterweight, astonishingly twinkle-toed, tangy and easy drinkable.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Dark amber colour, white foam. Lots of banana, some caramel, German style maltiness. Ok bock beer.

Bottled on 11-04-2016. Plenty of (ripe!) banana, but also a nice citrussy aroma present. Soft mouthfeel, very flavorful. Boozy.

A golden beer. A head is medium nad blond. Aroma has wheat, strong fruitness and sweetness of bananas. Taste has fruitness and bananas, some spices in the end. The alcohol can be noticed. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, smooth. Maybe too much of alcohol that is decreasing the refreshning.

Bottle. Assertive lemony spicy aroma. Hazy deep golden colour. Taste is very fresh, flavourful. Clean clove, some banana, lemony, vanilla, really good. A touch of bitterness and clean grassy hops flavour. Easy drinking, alcohol hidden well. Very good.
