A Dutch saying says ‘Keulen en Aken werden niet op een dag gebouwd’ which literally translates as ‘Cologne and Aachen weren’t built in one day’ the equivalent of 'Rome wasn't built in one day.' That’s right, it might take a while but here it is, a superbe Imperial Hefeweizen with tones of banana in a background of the freshness from the Saaz hops (dryhopped) It’s a one off. (most probably)

Bottle @ home. Hazy murky almost opaque a bit pale orange color, average to medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste wheat, yeast, lightly banana, pretty sweet initially, some sort of fruityness in there...apricot perhaps? Bitter and lightly alcoholic finish.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in April 2016. Cloudy, orange with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Rather faint, sweetish, moderately spicy and slightly fruity aroma of banana, honey, peach, clove and some honeydew. Sweetish, moderately fruity and moderately spicy taste of banana, clove, peach, honeydew and some alcohol, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, spicy and moderately alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, very creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite pleasant, but far from being a good Weizenbock. Too alcoholic, lacks flavour, only the mouthfeel is appropriate.
