11.04.2018, tap @ Brygg:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, slightly hazy. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish grassy, wet hay, old lawn, leafs, moss, light malts, minerals, fruit stones, body lotion, old citrus peel, oak, yeast, barnyard. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, soda powder, brett, flowers, leafs, hay, minerals, bark, lawn, citrus peel, hops, paper, berry skin, oak. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry citrusy mouthfeel. Nice enough.

IPA by Lervig enriched with Oud Beersel lambic, sampled from a can (no idea if this also exists in bottled form). Rather loose, opening, egg-white head over a yolk-yellow, peach-tinged blonde beer, completely cloudy from the start. Dank hoppy aroma, stale lime juice, grapefruit, withering kitchen herbs, spoiling onions, dough, mango-scented shampoo, fermenting pear juice (the lambic factor, very probably), sweat, herb cheese. Vividly fruity onset, mild lime-like sourishness under mango and ripe pineapple sweetness, gooseberry accent, medium carb, fluffy and bit creamy mouthfeel, juicy. Soft doughy malt soil, including wheaty soapiness and oaty creaminess; dank aromatic hop character, ‘old hop urine’-like aspects, withering herbs, grapefruit juice, overripe mango – with some late sourishness and dim earthy bitterness probably, but not very obviously coming from the lambic. I was actually looking forward to this ‘versnijbier’ in expecting my first sour IPA (not sure if that idea makes any sense, though) – but the lambic is hard to find here, it seems to accentuate the dankness and sweatiness of the hops and adds some underlying, lime juice-like sourness which blends with the lime-like properties of the hops; far less ‘lambic-y’ than I was expecting (or even hoping) but an interesting, dank and flavourful, somewhat ‘dirty’ NE-inspired IPA nonetheless.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4, many thanks! Pours hazy dirty yellow. Aroma is almost pure NEIPA, with hints of... Something spontaneous, not necessarily Lambic. Body is medium, very bitter throughout, strongly hoppy with hints of Lambic here and there. If I didn't know, I'd say this is a bad bitter IPA.

Hazy yellow. Aroma is green gooseberries, raisins, oat, flour, some tropic fruit. Taste is a bit sour with mealy fruit, not too much hop burn. Gooseberry finish. Quite tasty. But I dont get the big deal.

Can, danke Matthias! Milky yellow, offwhite lace. Dank citric nose, grapes, gooseberry, kiwi. Dry vineous juicy on top, green hops, green bell pepper, broad citrus. Balance is great - medium light mealy and dry. Citrus, light sour finish. Neat!

Can. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is wild yeast, tropical fruits, oats, gooseberries, bretty, citrus. Taste is sweaty haze, tropical fruits, gooseberries, dry finish. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Fun idea, great balance, great execution. Extra point for nailing the balance in such a crazy idea at the first try.

Can at beerlovers bar. Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Smell is an incredible mix between lambic and hoparomatics. I'm talking a true 50/50 , which is very hard to get with a product such as lambic. Impressive. Taste is likewise . the balance shows the skill of the brewmaster. However, I don't like my IPA's funky , nor my lambics bitter. I don't love the combo, even though it couldn't have been worked out better.

Tasting glass @ Gollem. Hazy orange, little white head. Nose is lemon & low orange sour, basic chalk sour, low acidic. Taste is far less acidic than you would expect in general or going by the nose, surprisingly mild in every way with chalk, doughy, very mild lacto sour, no funk, more doughy, basic clean bread, low sour, very easy, doughy, mandarin, chalk, same for the body,… Far milder, less funky than expected, very fine beer, totally different from expectation but nice still even if not as funky or lambiek heavy as hoped.

Sample from Can. Hazy yellow with white head. Fresh citrus, pineapple, pine needles, gooseberries. Pretty dry. More IPA than something that you'd think is lambic, still delicious though.
