Cask @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2019 in the company of the brewer. Pours a clear deep brown, thin off-white sheet atop. Prominent caramel aroma welcoming you in. Smooth, light palate, nice caramel malt character, good gentle sweetness with a low bitterness. Pretty good dunkel.

Cask half-pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 12th Jan 2017. Very surprised to see this on offer as I thought Ken (Finney) had only brewed it for the 2016 Wellington Oktoberfest: canโt believe itโs been sitting around until now before being put on. Anyway it was fine: very dark brown with ruby edges and a full, lightly tanned crown of foam on top. Smouldering Peat aroma and taste, malty and interesting throughout. Good body depth too.
