Authentic amber ''Bière de Garde'' made from raw materials exclusively from Nord-Pas de Calais. This characterful beer is amber-coppery in color. It has a rich, slightly caramelized taste and fine bitterness. It is typical of the amber beers that make the reputation of the North of France. The hops used are Brewer's Gold and Strisselspalt.

750mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours murky dark amber with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is very spicy - cinnamon and nutmeg jump out predominantly, with a bit of brown sugar and toffee. Flavour is a very pleasant balance of caramel / brown sugar and the aforementioned spices, with more of the sweeter side lingering. Medium bodied with a semi-sweet but dry finish. Quite nice.

0,33 l. bottle from Vinbørsen, Copenhagen. Hazy, amber colour. The head is creamy with some bigger bubbles, white in colour and long lasting. Some laceing. Aroma has spiciness, sour apples and perhaps vinegar. I get malty caramel, cinnamon and sour fruits in the medium lasting finish. A nice, warming, complex beer

Medium offwhite head. Hazy amber body with carbonation. Fruity floral herbal aroma with cardamom, peach, and coriander notes. Dry-sweet yeasty fruity peachy taste with mealy cardamom notes. Light body. Mild, soft mouthfeel with faint oily butter. Dryish herbal honeyish fruity aftertaste with coriander and pepper notes. Very nice and highly drinkable. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly Vika, Oslo.)
