10 March 2019. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Shared with the lovely Anke! Hazy golden-ochre, no head. Aroma of white grape, wood, apple peel, grass, hay, cheese, old bread, apricot. Taste is light to medium funky sour, notes of hay & straw, brett & lemon, a bit cheesy; light woody bitterness brings white grape & faint leather, sweetish fruit notes in the back, nothing too outspoken. Dryish, tart, lemony & vinegar-like finish, more wood & white grape, some bitter tannins at work. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Wine barrel character is there but in a delicate way.

Sampling tray at de Grote Dorst, from a bladder box?, 09/12/18. Lightly hazed golden with a well presented off white covering. Nose is gentle citric peel, funk, damp wood, light berry fruits, grains. Taste comprises damp oak, modest cherry notes, damp hay, green berry must, funk, lemon rind, red apple skins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with balanced acidity. Nice easy drinker with good balance.

Pour at dorst. A light hazed golden coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is sharp sicky funk, funky lemons, citric acid,. Flavour is composed of sharp lemon, herbal notes, mellow musty, citric acid earthy notes. Palate is sharp, lowish carbonation, acidic finish. Good.

Box at Night of the Great Thirst. Variegated golden amber color. Aroma is full of funk and dust. Taste has more funk, distant sweaty farm animals. Very tasty.

Draught at Nacht van de Grote Dorst.. Hazy orange color with hardly any head. Aroma is super dusty funk, . Taste is tannic, dusty, horseblanket. Oily mouthfeel, flat. Great Lambik, but I preferred the Châteauneuf-du-Pape version.

Bag in box at Nacht van de Grote Dorst. Bit hazy darker golden with no head. Funk, light milky, sweet white grapes, light herbs, grassy. Quite fresh with nice fruity grapes but also milky dough and a bit funny bitter finish. Almost medium sour. Medium bodied with no carbonation.
