22nd July 2019, hand-pulled pint in The Royal Oak, Eccleshall. Expected a darker beer to be honest, not the golden pour I got. Anyway there doesn't seem to much 'Royal' about it at all. Malty rather than hoppy and decent enough, but lacks interest and 'oomph'.

Cask @ Cock Hotel, Wellington. Pours clear gold with healthy white foam head. Pale golden ale malt on the nose, continues to taste. Straightforward, gentle golden ale, a little bland perhaps, but very much catering to that Shropshire drinker that wants nothing more.

Cask @ Cross Keys, Chester [030518]
Golden, clear, dense white head
Aroma - slight hint of sweet malt, almost no aroma
Taste of soft sweet pale caramel, light cereal, very light hops, mainly pale sweet malts, hint of honey, no citrus here, clean
Palate - Medium light body, soft sweet, smooth, bit tangy around edges of tongue, clean. Finish is light bitter, slight pale marmalade
Overall - Easy quaffable golden ale, light flavours as usual for Joules, bit better than the Pale Ale
