Bottle. Pours murky dirty amber with airy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit, citrus, malt, and grass. Sweetish flavour of malt and caramel, with notes of hops and fruit. Sourish touches in the otherwise bitter finish. OK.

Bomber. So this has hidden in the back of the fridge for a long time. Date stamped 10/2102 on the glass, so we will have to see where this takes us. Pour is fairly beautiful. About half the glass is a chestnut medium brown and about half is foam. As the suds die back they lace nicely of the sides of the glass and the aromas I’m picking up promise sugar and fruit with a little spice. As it warms a bit while I’m typing the spice seems to gain a little bit of intensity, but I am having a hard time pinning it down. Maybe ginger and the fruit seems more and more orange-like the more I sit here thinking about the beer. Flavor is definitely Christmas-y in my book. Brown sugar and orange peel with a kind of harsh bitter and pithy flavor in the late finish and then in the aftertaste. Kind of a combination of orange peel pith and not quite ripe persimmon. A little bit of oxidation creeps in around the edges too. I like where this beer starts and a little of the bitterness would be ok, but as is it is kicking my teeth and I’m not sure about finishing this whole bomber. I’m fact, I really doubt it.
