Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Trader Joe’s. Aroma is weak bread, caramel and brown sugar. Appearance is clear dark mahogany with trace sparkle, two finger-width foamy beige head with good retention and minimal lacing. Taste is like aroma--like brown bread. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft to average carbonation and sweet, malty finish. Overall, a straightforward, standard brown ale that is decent but nothing special.

Bottle at the Dec 2015 meeting of the Shrewsbury Beer Share Group. As the name hints, it’s a brown coloured beer, the head beige. Malty with a caramel semi-sweetness along side some bittering coffee grains and chocolate notes. Decent enough without setting the world alight.

22 ounce bottle. Reddish brown color. Large Rocky tan head. Pleasant toasted malt nose has notes of cocoa and toasted nuts. Upfront, flavor is rich buttery malt with a subtle cocoa and toffee background. The middle is complex and spicy with notes of dark fruits and peppery hops. Finish is chewy malt with more cocoa. Overall, a tasty Brown Ale at a great value at $2.99 for a 22 ounce bottle.

The appearance is a dark brown colored body with a tan fluffy head that settles in fairly quickly, leaves a good amount of lacing.
The smell had a malty bringing in a very light coffee, and a dark barley.
The taste had a roasty kind of coffee with a bit of earthy nuttiness.
The palate had a medium, fairly sessionable, nutty aftertaste and sticky finish.
Overall, this is good for the style and good for me.

22oz bomber from Tempe Trader Joe’s pours with a crystal clear amber to ruby red body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some roasted malts, a bit of nuttiness and little else that I can tell. The Taste has some bright notes of roasted malts, sweetness and nuttiness but this somehow lacks depth and cohesion. To midway and into the finish a mild lemon to lime hoppy tartness comes to the surface. Decent offering.

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain, caramel, nutty, earthy and floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 22oz. A clear-looking brown beer with a dense, light beige head leaving some lacings. The aroma is quite nutty, with roasted malts, caramel and some dark chocolate. Quite dry on the palate, with a plesant level of carbonation. Full body. There’s caramel, nuts and a decent bitterness in the flavor, lasting for a good while. A pretty decent brown ale, well worth a sip or three. 130821
