Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light all things considered. It’s also dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth rich malts, dark toffee and cream. Touch of mild dark chocolate and malt roast. Light woody bitterness. Trace of vanilla. Spicy brandy and plummy fruits well integrated with mildly bitter floralness. Touch of cherry. Dry bitterish finish. Nice one, very drinkable.

From a 500ml bottle on 14/7/2017. Pours a murky dark amber with a smallish head. The nose is quite modest with a bit of caramel and stewed fruit. Flavour wise, it’s sweet up front, with caramel, toffee and dark fruit, which it met by a huge sticky, hoppy bitterness, with a hint of oak at the back. The texture is slightly syrupy and the carbonation low. It has a bit of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot about it in terms of intensity. An enjoyable big winter sipper.

Bottle at Namtons House Bar, Chiang Mai. Poured a clear dark orange amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet malt, toffee caramel fudge, treacle, alcohol. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a rich, slightly oily, sweet sugary malt, alcoholic bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
