Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is strong dark roasted coffee, roasted malt, touch of caramel, cocoa, touch of ash and a hint of raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Lovely intense roasted coffee aroma, however the flavour and body can’t quite match it, I’d like this to be more smooth and creamy.

Appearance is almost black, not much head, a few beige bubbles. Aroma- lots of coffee and dark malt, chocolate, roast, some nuttiness, fudge, a bit of vanilla, trace of smoke. Taste- bitter coffee, burnt malt, dark chocolate, dark malts, more chocolate and coffee. Rich dark roasty coffee. Dry ashy finish, smooth mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Milky beige head soon left a collar on a near black still body. Full on coffee cream aroma - superb! Creamy body feel, smooth, soft & lush. This is so so smooth. Feels like velvet on the tongue. Chocolate, cream, ice cream , vanilla, coffee, malt, licorice & roasted. Reminds me of a Milk Stout.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, coffee, bread, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.

Level 42 bottleshare. Santa is flying past and below! Thanks to Matteo. Clear deep amber beer, patchy pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and has modest fine carbonation. Mild dark malts, perhaps a trace of sweetness, hard to tell as the beer is dominated by big earthy coffee. Dry and slightly bitter finish. Earthy coffee linger. It’s a nice flavour but pretty one dimensional.
