St-Feuillien Quadruple is a very dark and dense beer. She is noticeably alcoholic. She distinguishes herself by a complex and finely caramelized aroma and with shades of Madeira wine and candied fruit and an intense touch of fermentation esters (banana type). A slight hoppy smell (English style) completes the whole. The mouth is long with a powerful body built on the density and generous apparent extract. The bitterness is present but sweet and blends harmoniously with the malty struc- ture. The selection of special malts raises the chocolate side with the nuances of coconut. The saturation is average.

Bottle. A huge dark beige head forms over a lightly hazy and well sparkling auburn colored body. Nice curtains. Quite alcoholic aroma with prunes, raisins and some dried figs, some brown sugar and caramel. Yeasty hints, and a good dash of orange and pine cones. It's full-bodied and silky on the palate, appropriately carbonated, with some alcohol warmth, a light bitterness and some Belgo-style sweetness. Prunes, figs, caramel, brown sugar and a piney touch in the flavor. Lasting finish. A very pleasant quad indeed. A bit heavy on the carbonation, else nice. 220216

330mL bottle, pours a dirty dark mahogany with a large tan head with long retention. Nose reveals a wonderfully fragrant Belgian yeast character, with dark dried fruits, toffee, and some sweet esters -- very authentic and on-point. Flavour is rich and complex, with loads of dark dried fruits, toffee, caramel, intense Belgian yeast character, and plenty of alcohol burn. Moderately sweet for the style and extremely highly carbonated. This is definitely on the harsher side -- in terms of alcoholic kick -- compared to the greats (Rochefort 10, Abt 12, etc.). But the complexity is certainly there. The higher carb works well too. Wonderful stuff.

Sips of sweet malt with some nice toastiness, booze definitely in there too, but not overwhelming, a little oaky vanilla. Solid.

330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A gusher. See-through dark red-brownish body. Steady beige head, good lacing. Rather sweet smell of dried fruit and caramel malts. Well balanced taste of raisin, prunes, and caramel, joined by Belgian yeasty strain. Maderia impression towards a warming, sweet finish. Full bodied. Pleasant slow sipper on a Saturday eve, just a tad too sweet in the long run. (Tromsø 18.09.2021).

Delt med EgilB på Lillehøgda. Småhissig. Dyp rubinrød. Nesten klar. Lavt skum med litt farge. Aroma av nøtter & svisker. Smaken har et lite sherrypreg. Litt svisker. Søt, alkoholisk etter hvert. Tørr avslutning.
