Hoopla is a Tequila barrel aged sour with coffee. This beer is predominantly a golden sour that was aged in first fill tequila barrels for about 14 months. We blended in a small portion of younger oaked golden sour to soften out the tannins, and then conditioned the beer on some absolutely gorgeous coffee (Ethiopian, natural) from Agro Coffee Roasters.

Tasting at Salesforce, bottle
Cloudy blond colour. The arom ais mildly fruity, with some sourness, and a touch of coffee. Dry, weak mouthfeel, very little fruity character and light coffee.
The most positive thing is that the coffee is not too strong.

Cloudy gold with a small white head. Soured coffee and stone fruit. Light soured coffee and a light finish. Weird but decent.

Beige, dull, no head. There's a bit of coffee, a touch of brett. It's quite tart. Just a bit of coffee...same as the nose but it's fairly simple. The tequila is on the nose maybe but that's about it. Probably not my favourite of this brewery.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque dull orangey yellow with a small white head. Aroma reveals earthy coffee, with sour fruit, and a hint of tequila. Flavour is sour and coffee-dominated, with lots of earthy coffee grounds, tart fruit, and soil. Lots of sour earthy grounds. Not too pleasant. A bad idea, but done OK.

375ml at Sales Force. Appearance: murky blonde with a white head. Aroma: not nice earthy fermented coffee with tequila notes. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: meh.
