One of several quite exotic fruit lambics tried out by Tilquin earlier this year for the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the company; sampled at ZBF. Open, loose, snow white, bubbly head, quickly gone; hazy apricot-yellow blonde robe. Aroma of indeed Cape gooseberries (the ‘physalis’), white yoghurt, moldy old lemons or stale lemon juice, haystack, dry straw, bread crust, green apple. Crisp, tart onset, lots of Cape gooseberry acidity but also a softening sweetish touch hidden within the sourness, a tad peachy; near to flat carb, supple body. Bready core, dried by yoghurty and tart green-fruit-like acidity but remaining fresh and crisp. Lemony, sourdoughy and slight woody notes in the end, but remaining very elegant. Juicy and refreshing, the chosen fruit works surprisingly well here so let us hope this one makes it into a bottled version some day…

Zythos 2022. Opaque dark yellow colour. Aroma and flavour have tangy berries. I don't know the fruit well but the resulting beer is nicely fruity and tangy.

Spritziger, säuerlich trockener Beginn. Viel Frucht ist nicht vorhanden, dann gibt es eine Säurespitze, dennoch nicht unsüffig. Langer Nachgeschmack. 7/9/7/9//9

Draft @ Tilquin 10ième Anniversaire - Fruit Extravaganza wknd.

16/V/21 - on tap, shared @ Tilquin Fruit Extravaganza (Tilquin Brewery), BB: n/a (2021-403) Thanks to Erwin & Meeki for sharing today’s beers!

Cloudy blond orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: wow, this is very bad, medicinal, lots of band-aid, glue solvents, very unpleasant, rotting stuff. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very sourish, vinegar notes, weird, funky, dirty bitterness, funky. Aftertaste: chemical, rubber, weird, some ammonia, bit oxidized, rotting fruits, very unpleasant, don’t like it at all! Last year's dirty boy was Aerelles Sauvages, this year's is this one! :p
