14/08/2011 on tap @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival Zwevegem (2011-388)

Note: First time had this beer at ZBF 2011, where I enjoyed it. This time however was pretty different.

Little cloudy deep red beer, creamy yellowish head, bit stable, adhesive. Aroma: smells like "het putje" (sewers), cheese, bit sour, old socks. MF: lots and lots of carbon (to hide the taste I guess), medium to full body. Taste: bitter grapefruit, bit sugary, alcohol, curacao, something dirty. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, bit sour. In a very specific way, but hard to describe, quite nasty. And such a difference with the version at ZBF in March!

[3/6/11] Draught at ZBF 2011. Brown-colored with a beige head. Aroma of malt, some dark fruits and woody hints. Sourish-sweetish flavor with malt, caramel and some fruits. Medium-bodied. OK.
