Bomber from the LCBO and second brew from Cannery for me. Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Decent creamy beige head that is also foamy, staying a little while and creating some lacing. Beautiful smooth and rich maple nose with some roasted malts and hints of nuts and vanilla. The mouthfeel is way thinner than expected. The taste is pretty good though, with the roasted malts at first going to a little bitterness from the hop and ending easy with the maple syrup swinging into the aftertaste and a touch of cocoa lingering a bit. An easy-drinking stout (as it is really thin) that is nicely balanced with the maple notes.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with chocolate and light maple. In mouth, chocolate mix with maple, light oxidation, a bit boring. Bottle from Sept 2011.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, roasted malt, and maple. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, maple, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Dark brown color with red shades; medium sized beige head, compact. Very nice aroma of roasted malt (mild), pecan nuts, maple syrup. Lean body; strong flavor of roasted malt (too strong for me) overwhelming the nutty (maple?) touch. Correct bitterness; the final is rather dry. Another good one from Cannery.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours an opaque black with a beige head. Almost smoky maple aroma combined with the roast. Medium body, hard roast, raisins and again this smoky note with some malt astringency. 080411

22 fl oz bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, maple and caramelish. Maple syrupy and dark malty. Sweet, roasted malty and dense caramelish. Bitter and roasted into a medium dry finish.

Nice solid ash brown head and a jet black body. The aroma is finally something that screams maple syrup - as well as coffee and prune. Taste is a soft stout with some dark chocolate and coffee notes with the perfect balance of maple syrup bringing it all together. This stuff is excellent and finally gets the maple beer mix just right.

Dark brown, small beige head. Nose of maple and brown sugar. Roasty palate with strong maple notes. Drinkable but too sweet

Bottle: Poured a medium black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry roasted malt notes with some notes clear notes of maple which are surprisingly quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by loads of maple notes with well balanced sweetness and some dry roasted notes. Body is a bit thin for style with some very good carbonation. Very interesting experiment with maple notes being clearly identifiable and some well balanced sweetness. Not sure I would have this often but well brewed nonetheless.
