Hini Du (La noire) is presented as a "black beer from Mont d´Arrée". It is made on the basis of three malts (Munich, Pilsen and Black) and roasted barley from Bordeaux. The flavoring is provided by English hops (Golding).

Clear dark brown to black beer, big fizzy beige to brown beer, falls down to a small foamy rocky head, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, roasted, hint of ripe banana, dried fruits, dark chocolate, bit metallic. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish in the start, malty, soft roast, hoppy touch, citrus. Aftertaste: metallic, very roasted, bitter, somewhat fruity, dried fruits, still rather sourish, coffee grit, grains. So much flavour for such a low abv (hey, I'm Belgian!) stout, I love it!

Pitch black, tall creamy tan head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, light liquorice, hint of smoke. Taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, light spicy notes, average duration. Light bittersweet finish, chocolate notes, medium body, watery texture, bit thin mouthfeel, soft carbonation. All in all a bit thin which is a pity but still pretty decent.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Spicy, roasty, dark malty aroma, sweetish hints of liquorice, a herbal and spicy touch of lovage, Maggi. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally metallic, notes of liquorice; slightly bitter, roasty finish with cautious hints of ashes.
