1 April 2019. At (Moeder) KILA Quiz - cheers to my team mates! Pours hazy golden-orange with a big, lasting, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of ripe, almost mouldy, orange, apricot & banana, burnt white sugar, yeast, iron, ripe red & yellow apples, apple sauce, clove. Taste is medium to heavy fruity sweet, apple sauce, ripe apricot & banana mixed into an industrial white bread (mass-produced 'pullman loaf'), accents of honey & clear residual white sugar, countered faintly by a light spicy bitterness with clove, some grass, which renders it a bit phenolic & metallic too. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, soon overpowered again by ripe fruits, white sugar & slightly astringent, warming jenever alcohol (bordering on boozy white rum). Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. I get that a student society would opt for an 'allemansvriend' or 'everyone's friend' as a beer, and indeed, this goes down very well (admittedly, I drank two, but I prefer this over Jupiler). If sophistication is not a prerequisite, this is probably the best you could hope for.
