Pours a thick, hazy (almost soupy) pineapple-orange, with big frothy head that dissipates rapidly. Aromas are dank, onion, cheese, tropical fruit and citrus. Flavor is smooth and sweet, with tropical fruit and citrus fruit. Soft, full mouthfeel with only the faintest of bitterness at the finish. Really nice!

13 April 2019. At First Timternational Beer Tasting, Ghent. Cheers to Ghent beer crew! Pours cloudy yellow with a slowly thinning, unstable, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of marijuana, sweaty onion, mellow yellow grapefruit, mango, pineapple, mandarin, dough, hint of chalk, tonic. Taste is medium fruity sweet, quite tropical, hints of pineapple & mandarin, supported by soft doughy maltiness, restrained sourish lemon & lime in the back; hoppy bitter notes of ripe grapefruit, mandarin peel, faint pine & dank tones of hasish & onion. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, more onion, yellow fruit & dough. Medium body, slick/fluffy texture, fizzy carbonation. Dank for sure, but still very much aromatic.

Hazy APA from a can shared at First Great Timternational Beer Geek Tasting. Mousy, snow white, loose and quickly opening, rather thin head on a milky, yolk-yellow beer with vague greenish tinge. Aroma very dank and sweaty, stale lime juice, unripe pear, lemon flesh, withering dill, green melon, dough, cheese spread, starfruit, overripe shallot, olive oil. Sweetish and sourish onset, softly carbonated, hinting at lime, starfruit and green apple, soft, fluffy and soapy mouthfeel; doughy malt soil drenched in dank hoppiness, aromatic with notes of lime, olive oil and onion, but also depositing a powdery, somewhat peppery bitterness to the end phase. This would make it qualify as an IPA for me, but apparently it was intended as an APA within the New England idiom – in which actual hop bitterness remains understated compared with hop aroma anyway, so one can wonder what sense it makes to distinguish between New England IPA and New England APA… Regardless, this beer delivers precisely what its name promises: a very dank nose by all standards, no wonder tderoeck used it as an example to explain the meaning of ‘dank’ specifically in a beery context to the less geeky participants of this highly enjoyable tasting.

Cloudy pale to bright yellow beer, practically no head. Aroma: pretty hoppy, bit resinous, lots of pineapple, bit piny, onions, dank hops. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, bit sweet, citrus touch, bit piny, some grapefruit, nice, slightly sweet. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, bit hoppy, fruity touch, nice stuff!
