28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Hazy black, very thin, tan head. Aroma of chili, red bell pepper, fondant, coffee roast, roasted nuts, black olive. Taste is light malty sweet, a bit chocolatey & toasty, quickly overthrown by a heavy spicy bitterness that carries red bell pepper & habanero accents, some fondant & coffee roast, building up a big chili burn into the dry, peppery hoppy finish, more β€˜pure’ coffee bean in the back, some warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Too spicy for my liking.

28/IV/19 - sample @ Zythos Bierfestival 2019 (Leuven), BB: n/a - (2019-629) Thanks to nathanvc, 77ships & Anke for sharing today's beers!
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, nice roast, coffee, cocoa powder. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of chillies up front, alcohol is very noticeable (maybe because of the chillies), lots of roasted flavours, more alcohol, lots of chillies. Aftertaste: all chillies, with some alcohol and a soft roast. Chillies are too overwhelming, and people who have eaten spicy food at my place, know what that means… :p
