Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up via online. Pours deep brown with a slight, fizzy tan head. Hearty and old-school, with rich dark malt character, light tobacco, burnt toffee, iodine, ashy roast, some scorched earth, bitter chocolate. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with ashy bitterness, a hint of gingerbread, burnt sugars, bittersweet cocoa. Good stuff overall.
