Bold amber. Toasty malts combine with citrus and make for a tasty treat. Solid beer.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is rye and caramel. Medium body, rye, citrus, earth, lingering bitterness, good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber copper with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Flavor has earthy grain with a bit of resin and a grass backbone. Flavor has that same resin and grass combination with a sweet earthy grain backbone.

On tap at the Porterhouse, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma is on the dryer and hoppier side, with bready malt and dry hops. Flavour is along the same lines, but with some vegetal notes in there as well. Decent balance but the vegetal quality detracts a bit.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a hazy brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of caramel, malt and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, grassy hops and caramel. The finish is malty up front with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Nice rich light brown coloured body with a ruby tint and a nice one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, light nuts, a bit of earth and some english hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front with a good malt backbone, some lighter toffee and caramelised sugar notes and a hint of earth and nuts noticeable. Aftertaste shows more malt than hops, but a nice balance for sure, with a pleasant deep flavour. Overall, a good english pale with some american hops and a more decidedly balanced flavour with a good bit of sweetness at the end. I sampled this pint on draught at HoneyHole in Seattle, Washington on 09-February-2013 for US$4.50.
