Keg at the Tacoma location, 9/14/23. Black, thin brown head, average retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast, earth. Taste is roast, caramel, chocolate, piney hops. Well balanced, chewy. Very nice.

On tap at 7 Seas - Tacoma, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out dry roasted malt, some earthy hops, and a touch of bone dry cocoa powder. Flavour is smooth and roasty, with a real solid roasted malt character, a hearty oat character, and dry cocoa. Love how roasted and dry this is. Excellent.

Black with a dark head. Very dry, roasted malt. Cocoa, coffee, near burnt malt. Medium bodied. Finish is dry and bitter roasted. Very enjoyable if you’re looking for a hefty roasted malt profile.

16oz growler from Chuck’s CD. Very black beer, big head pour from growler. I had a Halls before the beer due to this cough from fatherhood. What is it about having a baby and getting a cough? Do Halls desensitize my taste buds? Aroma is toasty and oatmealy with cocoa and light roast and acidity. Mouthfeel is lighter but not light. Flavor is more mineral wit the roast and roast coming forward, also drags some of the roast acidity. Just a hint of unsugary sweet black malts. Low hop, dry black malt aftertaste. Maybe it’s the fatherhood cough but I’m digging this sout that isn’t particularly special.

Draught at Mckay’s Taphouse, Bellingham
Black color with generous tan head. The strong roasted malt blends well with the citrusy hops.
Nice.

Dark brown with a reddish hint. Light molassesy aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Sweet, touch of brown sugar, bit of foreign stout fruitiness, and just enough bitterness.

Draft pour. Dark pour with a tan head. Chocolate and coffee flavors, but pretty mild. I enjoyed it.
