Bottle pour, enjoyed during a blind barrel aged beers tasting. This was probably the most unique offering during the tasting for me. One that I loved on first sip, and all throughout, but couldn't quite get a grasp on what it was, or even the style. Aroma is tart forward, maybe a little wine like. Caramel orange pour, slightly rich malts. Red wine soft entry and linger. Might not know what it is, but it's super good. After the reveal, I was pretty surprised, especially since I put this bottle into the blind myself. 2016 vintage. Belgian style sour scotch ale. How did I not think of that! I've had so many of them! I really do think this is a special offering from these guys. Never had anything like it. Really captures the wine barrels well, and refuses to be boozy, even at double digits. A great amount of sour going on too. A lingering pucker, and it pairs wonderfully with the wine note. Would love to get another bottle of this. Really good stuff.

Deep ruby red with an effervescent tan head. Aroma is full of tart cherry, lightly sweet, some must, slight vinous, a hint of booze. Body has nice tiny bubbles with a good dry mouthfeel in the end. Flavor is mostly tart cherry with a good bit of yeast, musty notes, and a bit of woody notes. Finish is sour and dry. A very nice brew. The most interesting and complex offering I’ve had from Silver City.
