Thanks, TimE. Caramel malts, milk chocolate, toffee, light toasted malt, and some deep fruits. Thick and chewy. Very solid barley wine. More please. (2008 drank Jan 2010)

Cloudy med brown color, big caramel, maraschino cherries, milk chocolate, brandy, the nose is amazing. Ginger, cranberries, milk chocolate, toffee, cherries, brandy, oranges and wood. Great depth, but not enough body. Alcohol is amazingly well hidden. Lingering milk chocolate, ginger and cherry finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy amber golden with a small off-white head. Spicy – almost herbal – nose. Medium body, lightly tart, weak caramel notes and again some herbs. Actually this comes a little thin for a beer this strong. Lightly bitter finish. Not a bad drop jut a bit underwhelming. 250308

Bottled. A murky orange-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit, slightly over ripe - especially oranges and peaches. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of fruit - again slightly on the over ripe side, as well as medium notes of alcohol tickling the tongue. Thanks to Papsoe for hauling this home from NZ.

Hazy deep amber with tiny short lasting head. Sweet aroma with notes of berries. Sweet flavor with abricot and caramel notes.

From bottle, 10B Papsoes New Zealand vs US blind tasting. Pours almost hazy orange with no head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Flavour is sweet. Almost sticky sweet. Light hoppy and fruity flavour. Fruity sweet finish with a light phenol and woody note. Ends bitter and dry, light fruity.
