Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark pale orange almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off fairly quick. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had some walnut/chestnut sweet roastiness rolling around some caramel/toffee malts. Some wood, light hay, cereal and a little bit of earthiness round out the edges.
The flavor was a nice blend of sweet to roasty nut to caramel/toffee maltiness. Aftertaste was the blend of it all. The finish was the same.
The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty good English styled brown ale that I could come back to.

Medium brown color with a thin head. Toasty caramel malts, earthy, bread, and light fruit in the aroma. Light bodied with a higher carbonation level than I would like. Caramel malts, toasty, light doughy flavor, sweet fruit, and a little chocolate. Finish has a higher hop bite than I thought was coming with a dryer than expected feel to it. It’s not bad, it’s just not the type of brown I enjoy.

12 oz bottle from Safeway, Port Angeles; Nose of vanilla, sweet caramel malt, and some brazil nuts; lightly hazy rusty brown with a medium cinnamon tan head; flavor has figs, brown sugar, and a small bitter hop note; finish is figgy with some very light bitterness and vanilla at the end. Very good brown ale! Could down this one anytime!

Great looking beer. brown with tannish head and some lacing. Aroma of malt and metal. Light body, less than you’d expect of a good brown, malt with a little caramel. Thin hoppish finish

Bottle: A transparent brown color in the medium depth, small bubbly tan beige head. Nose is bitters with hints of malt. Tasted more bitter and malty with hints of metal. Maybe a hint of caramel. Thin bodied and realtively light on taste.

Bottle Pours a clear medium chestnut color with a small wuick light tan head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is a plain slightly nutty roasted malt with the flavor being similar. Only a hint of hops and even though that was somewhat expected, it still left me wishing for a little more...of everything. Softly carbonated, light and quite thin on the pallate. Quaffable I suppose but not very interesting.
