Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear ruby body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of Coke and nuts. Flavour of cherry and plum. Medium body with a slightly sticky texture. Soft fizz. This is really nice. It tastes a bit like a Doppelbock.

Bottle. Pours a deep, dark reddish-brown, clear, with a thick, low off-white head. Nose is raisins, caramel, treacle, fudge. Very rich, fragrant malt. Rich, sweet, bready malt flavor, fudge, raisins, figs. Massive treacle. Fruity, tangy, slightly boozy finish to balance it nicely. Rich and full bodied but not overly heavy and nothing like cloying. Slightly roasted finish. A lovely winter warmer.

Bottled 330ml. -from Spicy Days Zagreb. Deep brown coloured with ruby red glare, small pale beige head; dried fruits, caramel and alcohol in the nose. Toasted malt, dried fruits, toffee, prunes and dates with light touch of alcohol and rathery dry sweet finish. Decent brew but not for summer days.

Bottle picked up amin Edinburgh. It pours darkest ruby brown with a medium foamy beige head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, deep dried fruit character, prune, date, raisin, figgy pudding, sticky, roasted malt, light smoke, earth and a bit jammy. The taste is smooth, roasty, unctuous, oily, bitter - sweet, dried fruits, eccles cake, date, prune, fig, cherry, hint of cocoa, wood, touch of varnish, spice, lightly charred and dried leaves with a warming, woody finish. Medium to fulsome body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Rich and moreish. Great depth, yet very drinkable.

Flaska från Systembolaget:
Söta, maltiga smaker av mörk kola, sirap och farin. Alkoholen värmer. Påminner lite om Samichlaus. God nu, men blir nog ännu bättre om man lagrar den ett tag.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Dark mahogany colour, mid sized head. Peaty nose with bready malt. Sweet with full body and well rounded, somewhat viscous mouthfeel. Peat, treacle and rich malt. Warming peppery finish. Quality fireside stuff.
