At Winter Beer Fest 2017, Waregem. Shared with Anke!
Hazy dark amber/brown with a lasting, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of wood, caramel, sour cherry, hint of vinegar (not overly so as in an 'Oud Bruin'), hops & yeast. It tastes medium fruity sweet and light sour, ending light hoppy bitter with a slightly dry finish. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice and complex, indeed perfect for wintertime, I'd say it's just a bit more pleasing than their Café Noir...

14/IV/17 - 75cl bottle @ home - BB: 18/IX/21, bottled: 18/IX/16 (2017-444) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark red brown beer, big creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very floral, yeast, fruity touch, caramel, sweet impression, quite some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet start, ripe banana, some caramel, alcohol. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, caramel, some chocolate, some alcohol, very soft roast, yeast, bit floral. Decent beer, not getting much oak though...

Bottle. Pours very dark caramelly brown. Small white head fades rather fast. Smell is bit sweet, complex, earthy. Mild bitter side to it . Taste is bit bitter, mild maltyness, sweet side to it ( towards the aftertaste ) very mild spice selection. Don’t really get the oak, but I supose it contributed to the complex taste you get in general here. Nicely done, but ’safe’ perhaps but truly well made, I can see this working for almost anybody.
