600ml bottle brought back from Canada by Sarah. Hazy, unfiltered orange-tan. Full bodied, sweet, thick. There are some mild earthy ringwood like feels under the belgian yeast and fruity citrus hops in the flavor, and more in the aroma. Respectable hopping but not so good overall. That buttery caramel taste just doesn’t work for me.

Gotta clear out the on-deck beers before I get to the new muled-from-Buffalo brews brought up by my lovely sister-in-law. Hooray! This slightly cloudy gold-orange beer has a great big juicy-fruit nose, (not unlike Amsterdam’s Fracture) with some resins and hay malts. The taste carries some of those similarities over - hay malts, big fruity and citrus hops, and very dominating bittering hops. That bitterness really lingers too. When it mixes with the citrus it tastes like I’ve had a big bite of orange peel, heavy on the bitter pith (the white stuff under the zest.) A good beer but the hop balance is too far toward the bitter for my tastes.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter hoppy notes with light fruity ester with some residual sugar notes perceptible. Taste is dominated by aggressive bitter hops notes with some fruity ester and light residual sugar notes. Body is full enough with good carbonation. Enjoyable but I would have preferred more focus on the yeast strain and floral hops side than the aggressive bitter hop attack.

On tap at HBH. Murky deep orange pour with a thick off white head that leaves lots of tight lace. Big citrus nose with some yeast and pepper. Light malt to support a medium bitter middle continuing to a long finish with some spice. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation. Nice.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity biscuit malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, clover, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice fruity biscuit malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, resinous and piney, clover field, nice and quaffable, yet bitter and piney. On tap at Arrow and Loon.
