Very interesting hop variety to try, i cant say ive had it very often if at all. Light tropical fruit aroma, with some pear, and apple. Carbis average and same for the mouth feel. Finish is semi sweet, the malts really come through. The hops are still tropical fruit and slightly tangy. Medium bitterness, and an odd wet paper fruity ending.

Draft: Poured a light amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention. Aroma of light pear and some tropical fruits notes is interesting. Taste is a solid mix of light tropical fruits with some light pear notes and some semi-sweet malt backbone. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Interesting to try Rakau hops on their own since it is not a variety that I encountered often but I can’t say that they would rank as favorite.

A hazed blonde Ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light catty hops, not bad. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with herbaceous hops, light catty notes, OK. On tap at Mondial 2014.
