Bouteille 660ml. De couleur brune et claire. Nez de grains de malt légèrement rôti et caramélisé avec des notes de sucre brun et de petits fruits foncés ainsi que des traces de toffee. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-élevé et une texture légèrement sirupeuse et huileuse. Léger goût fruité (raisins, léger de cerises) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de malt moyen-léger rôti, léger de caramel toffee avec de faibles traces de sucre brun puis en finale l’on retrouve une très légère amertume de houblon herbeux avec des notes d’alcool. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de rôti avec de petites notes brûlées ainsi qu’avec des notes fruitées (moût de petits fruits).

Bottle: Poured a hazy brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of good caramelized malt with limited complexity. Taste is also dominated by good caramel malt with light toffee and brown sugar notes. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. No major brewing flaws but nothing jumping out to makes this truly interesting.

Purchased at Marché Omni and comes in a bomber (660ml) brown bottle. Pours a red-brown colour with a big yellow-beige head that is foamy-frothy and disappears slowly leaving a bit of lace. The nose is nutty, malty and has notes of dark fruits. Smooth and oily mouthfeel. No burn from the higher alcohol content. Dates and raisins are the dark fruits found in the taste, with some roasted malts and burnt sugars. Notes of coffee are also found. A pretty surprising easy-drinking Scottish ale, that I would definitely have again... and suggest you do.
